Sheri Tanner, Program Director of Horry-Georgetown’s respiratory care program, is chairing the study group and gathering the needs-assessment data and letters of support for the “intent to seek CoARC accreditation” application that Newberry College hopes to submit in July or early August. Any support you can provide to Sheri and the Study Group is vastly appreciated.
Newberry College plans to continue to provide high-quality educational opportunities through the BSRT degree-advancement program and to serve the needs of the growing and evolving respiratory care profession. Long-term goals are to continue offering the BSRT online program to increase the number of RTs with bachelor’s degrees and to explore starting an APRT program in the future as legislative and industry changes create demand for this degree. Many hours of planning and strategizing have already been poured into these long-term goals. The BSRT program at Newberry College truly wants the “stamp of quality” that comes with being distinguished as a CoARC-accredited school. CoARC Accreditation is not required for the degree-advancement programs, but it provides support and guidance essential to all programs. We thank everyone in advance for the support of our endeavors.
